Every year the RHS Chelsea Flower Show attracts visitors from all parts of the UK and from around the world and here at Bulldog Tools we consider it to be a great honour to be involved. This year’s show was special for two reasons because not only did we supply tools for the RHS Greening Grey Britain Garden, designed by Ann-Marie Powell, but we also used the event to launch our stylish new range of Pedigree stainless steel garden tools.
Ann-Marie and her team used a wide range of Bulldog Premier Tools on the construction and planting phases of her garden’s construction including digging spades and forks, hand forks and trowels as well as various shears and secateurs. The garden was intended to build awareness of the positive effects that gardens and gardening can have on your health and happiness, featuring bright, colourful borders, soothing water features, a bee-friendly perennial meadow, and edible plants in pots along with a very stylish kitchen garden. Ann-Marie hopes that the garden will feed the heart and soul of those that see it and inspire both individuals and communities to get involved in greening their grey environments.
Greening Grey Britain is an RHS campaign to get the nation to start transforming hard, cold grey areas into living, planted places, improving lives and helping the environment. More than 1,300 people have already promised to plant up an area of grey to green, helping the RHS reach its target of 6,000 promises by the end of 2017. You can find more information and get involved with this project here.
When the Chelsea Flower Show finished on 28th May the RHS dismantled the garden and rebuilt it on the Angell Town estate in Brixton in the estate’s Little Angel Park. Over 150 residents came out to visit the new garden along with London’s newly elected Mayor, Sadiq Khan who planted the final plant – a rose, which completed the transplantation. The relocation was sponsored by the Evening Standard and we have additionally provided the community with a good selection of Bulldog Tools to help with the on-going maintenance of the gardens.
As previously mentioned in our blog we also launched our fantastic new range of Pedigree garden tools at the Show. The stainless steel tools combine design and elegance with performance and strength. They also feature polished tool heads, traditional ash handles and strapped digging tools with treads to save gardener’s boots. The range includes digging tools, rakes, a hoe, a wide selection of hand tools and secateurs. All tools have a lifetime guarantee and can be seen at: www.pedigreegarden.co.uk and coming soon to quality home and garden retailers around the UK.
We really appreciate everyone who came to visit us at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show and hope that those of you who bought tools from our stand have and will continue to enjoy using them for years to come.
