With Spring well and truly here (although a bit drier than most of us have come to expect!) and Summer on its way, we thought we’d bring you up to date with some of the big Bulldog Tools news stories from the last couple of months.

Great New Look

This Spring we have given our Bulldog Premier range a new cleaner and fresher look. The tools now have a transparent lacquer on the handle ensuring great durability and protection whilst allowing the natural beauty of the Ash grain to show through. Our labels have also been redesigned with the addition of new graphics and a modern shape, but still preserving the traditional ‘green and gold’ colours of which everyone at Bulldog Tools is rightly proud. These new look tools will be appearing in Bulldog retailers very soon, but if you can’t wait that long visitors to this year’s Chelsea Flower Show will be able to see the new livery on our stand.

Chelsea Flower Show 2015

Bulldog Tools will once again be exhibiting at the world famous Chelsea Flower Show this year. The show runs each day from 19th to 23rd May in the grounds of the Chelsea Hospital, London and we will be showing our great tools alongside ranges of our Mechanix gardening gloves. Our stand location is EA23/EA24 and for further details and ticket availability you can visit: www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/rhs-chelsea-flower-show

100 New Friends

A big thank you to everyone who has visited and ‘liked’ our new Bulldog Tools Garden Club Facebook page. The page has already passed the 100 ‘likes’ milestone and is a great place to find out more about all things both gardening and Bulldog! We are using the page to share pictures of our tools and the projects we are involved in as well as giving followers the chance to win some new Bulldog Tools of their own! We also love hearing stories from our customers and friends on the page about their own Bulldog Tools and gardening projects. To view the page simply visit: www.facebook.com/bulldogtoolsgardenclub

Big Dig Competition

The first competition we ran on our new Bulldog Tools Garden Club Facebook page was to celebrate our sponsorship of The Big Dig which took place across the capital on Saturday 21st March, run by Sustain and in London co-ordinated by Capital Growth. We offered five prizes of £150.00 worth of Bulldog Tools to the groups, projects or individuals that posted the best gardening ideas from the day on our page. We had lots of great entries, but the prize winners were OxGrow, Maryon Park Community Food Growing Garden, The Green Back Yard, Tooting Community Garden and Loughborough University Landscaping and Gardening Society. You can see photos of the winning projects here.

Sentebale Garden

Prince Harrys’ charity, Sentebale will once again provide a show garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. Entitled the ‘Hope in Vulnerability Garden’, it supports the vital work of the Sentebale Charity and its Mamohato Children’s Centre in Lesotho helping the most vulnerable children whose lives have been affected by extreme poverty and Lesotho’s HIV/AID’s epidemic. The garden is designed by Matt Keightley (winner of last year’s ‘People’s Choice Award’) with the Rosebank Landscaping team and built using our Premier range of Bulldog Tools and wearing our tough, durable Mechanix Gloves.

To find out more about Sentebale and to make a donation, please visit: www.sentebale.org. There are also more photos of this project on our Bulldog Tools Garden Club Facebook page.
