The New Year has been a busy one for all of us at Bulldog Tools with lots of new projects for 2015 and continued development of our top quality British tools. We thought we would take this opportunity to update all our loyal blog followers with some of the big Bulldog news stories of the last couple of months.

Mary Portas

Late last year we received an email from TV’s ‘Queen of Shops’ star Mary Portas whose friend Joan Scanlon had lost £5,000 worth of gardening tools in a garage robbery. Joan was not only left upset by the theft, but also worried about losing her garden design business based in Highgate, London. After finding out what had been taken, Bulldog Tools were only too happy to help replace Joan’s tools and received a lovely tweet from Mary thanking us for our efforts as well as this great picture of Mary and Joan surrounded by our British tools. We’d all like to thank Mary for her involvement and wish Joan a prosperous and theft-free 2015.

Urban Food Awards

Last month, London Food Board chair Rosie Boycott presented London’s first ever Urban Food Awards at Whole Foods Market in Kensington. Bulldog Tools were delighted to sponsor the Capital Growth Enterprising School Garden award which was won by Nightingale Primary School in Hackney which achieved an impressive amount of work around growing and enterprise in 2014. The Awards are part of an initiative funded by the Mayor of London and Seeds of Change, which provides grants and expert advice to small food enterprises in London to help them benefit people in their local communities.
