This year continues be a very exciting one for everyone here at Bulldog Tools, so once again we thought we would keep you up to date with what’s happening.

Young Horticulturist of the Year

In March we reported that Bulldog Tools are one of the national sponsors of the 2014 Young Horticulturist of the Year. This year’s competition included more than 2,000 participants, with total prizes exceeding £10,000 and a £2,000 Travel Bursary going to the winner. On 10th May it was announced that self-employed gardener Chris Parsons was the winner with Jess Evans from the National Trust runner-up and Kristina Vandenberg, a student at RHS Wisley claiming third place. The prize giving ceremony was held at the John Innes Centre in Norwich with all finalists winning cash prizes and a year’s free membership of the Institute of Horticulture. You can read more about the finalists here.

New Video Guide

The Telescopic Tree Pruner is one of the most popular and bestselling tools in the Bulldog range. The pruner can be used with either the integrated bypass cutting blade or an 80 tooth curved blade saw and a separate telescopic handle allows users to extend the pruner from 1.3m to 2.4m to reach higher branches. Recently some customers have contacted us to say they are encountering problems with the secure fitting of the extending handle and so we have released a video clearly demonstrating the correct procedure. The video can be seen here and features our own Managing Director, Stuart Elsom.
