Bulldog were delighted to be able to help Martin Robinson Deputy Chairman of Stone in Bloom with their project. Martin comments:

‘Stone in Bloom is a self funding group of local volunteers, for several years we have won a Gold in the Heart of England in Bloom Competition, the last two years also gaining the accolade of best in the large town category. As a consequence of this we have been put forward to represent the Heart of England in the RHS in Bloom National Finals, pitted against just a hand full of other large towns in the whole country.

We have sought sponsorship and funding towards our activities from many sources. Stone Town Council gave us a grant some of which we put towards having sets of quality tools to enable us to work more efficiently. In the past people have been borrowing many of my own garden tools many of which were British made Bulldog tools. A decision was made to approach this manufacturer for the supply of tools so now we have our own sets quality tools for the Campaign .

On the first work party we cleared an overgrown tow path by the Trent and Mersey Canal, immediately after we had finished a party of people approached on the way to Sunday lunch, so we decided to form an impromptu guard of honour with our new Bulldog tools. We now have two solid months of intense work before judging begins and just hope that the weather soon improves for our activities.’
