World Skills London took place last week at the eXcel centre, London. The largest ever skills competition hosted 51 countries/regions competing to be the best of the best in their chosen skill. More then 200,000 people from the UK visited the event where they had the chance to be inspired by the teams in competition as well as ‘have a go’ areas and careers advice.

The UK bought home its largest ever medals total, 5 Golds, 2 Silvers and 6 Bronze medals. Bulldog were delighted to see Simon Abbott and James Cuffey from Team UK win joint silver in Landscape Gardening. The Landscape Gardening area was one of the largest on site, with each team creating walling, paving, a water feature and populating the plot with plants, shrubs and trees. On the other side of the eXcel, the UK won gold for Philip Green’s efforts at Bricklaying.

Along with our display of Bulldog Tools, we ran our ‘raking it in’ competition. Using a Bulldog Springbok rake, guests had to rake £10 worth of 2p coins into a container in the fastest time possible, with a Bulldog Spade on offer as the prize. The fastest time was 6 seconds!

Congratulations to all who took part from the UK and the rest of the world. For the full listing please visit:
