The big task today was to get the garden ready for the soil that arrives on Monday.

The flag stones that make up the Forge floor had set overnight. This allowed us to continue work on it and we used reclaimed bricks to help it look as if had been there for years. By the end of the day the effect was complete and it looks brilliant!

We also began work on the path. There are over 400 cobbles to be placed individually and by dusk we had finished just over half of them. We’ll finish it first thing tomorrow.

Then, the main building work should be finished by the evening of Day 3, just in time for the arrival of the majority of the plants on the morning of Day 4. Phew!
